Our aim is to empower our pupils to become distinguished achievers. We strive for them to excel academically, to thrive in their Islamic studies, and to be proud memorizers of the Qur’an. At Zakariya Primary School, success is not solely measured by grades, but by the development of character and Islamic values.

Our Philosphy

At Zakariya Primary School, we believe in nurturing the mind and the soul. Our unique educational approach ensures that each of our 120 pupils receives a robust academic education aligned with the UK National Curriculum, enriched with a dedicated Hifz programme. We are committed to fostering a love for learning, both secular and religious, that will last a lifetime.

Academic Curriculum

  • Bespoke Education: Tailored learning that caters to each child’s abilities.
  • UK National Curriculum: Comprehensive and inclusive of all statutory requirements.
  • An Integrated Hifz Programme: A Maktab within the school, seamlessly blending traditional Islamic education with contemporary studies.

Islamic Education

  • Daily Islamic Classes: From Qaida to Hifz, our programme is designed for progression in Islamic knowledge.
  • An-Naseeha Curriculum: A well-rounded and thorough Islamic studies curriculum taught daily.
  • Memorisation of the Qur’an: Cultivating love and memorization of the Qur’an alongside academic pursuits.

    Enrolement

Founded in 1991, FGCM has grown from a modest beginning into a cornerstone of the local Muslim community. Our story began at 451 Romford Road, where the first prayers were held, marking the start of a journey filled with faith, community service, and educational pursuits.

Over the years, as our congregation expanded, so did our facilities. Through the collective effort and generosity of our community, we acquired adjacent properties to accommodate our growing needs. In 2003, we took a significant step forward by establishing a primary school that combines the UK national curriculum with Islamic studies, emphasizing Quran memorization.

    Key Information

Today, FGCM is not just a Masjid but a comprehensive Islamic centre that caters to the diverse needs of our community. From educational programs for all ages to interfaith initiatives and community welfare projects, we strive to fulfill our mission of providing a holistic Islamic environment.

    Contact

As we look to the future, we are excited about our plans to build a new, purpose-built Masjid and community centre. This project represents our commitment to creating a space that meets the evolving needs of our community while preserving our cherished Islamic traditions.

Join us on this journey as we continue to build a legacy of faith, education, and community service at Forest Gate Central Masjid.

At Zakariya Primary School, we nurture young minds to excel in both the academic sphere and Islamic virtues. We are committed to fostering a culture of excellence where each child is emboldened to reach their full potential, rooted in the profound teachings of our faith and equipped with robust educational foundations.”
