Serving the Community for Over 30 Years

Nestled in the heart of Forest Gate, our Masjid stands as a beacon of faith, community, and learning. At Forest Gate Central Masjid (FGCM), we are more than just a place of worship; we are a vibrant community center committed to serving the spiritual, educational, and social needs of Muslims in London and beyond. Our doors are open to everyone, reflecting our dedication to inclusivity, understanding, and mutual respect.

Our vision

To be a pioneering Islamic centre in London that blends traditional Islamic values with modern British society.

Our mission

To empower the Muslim community by providing a blend of traditional Islamic education and contemporary learning, offering a range of services from Qur’an memorisation to modern civic engagement in a space that meets the evolving needs of a diverse congregation.

Our Values

Rooted in tradition and stewardship, our values are as follows:

  • Togetherness
  • Forward-Thinking
  • Tradition
  • Education
  • Stewardship

Our History

Founded in 1991, FGCM has grown from a modest beginning into a cornerstone of the local Muslim community. Our story began at 451 Romford Road, where the first prayers were held, marking the start of a journey filled with faith, community service, and educational pursuits.

Over the years, as our congregation expanded, so did our facilities. Through the collective effort and generosity of our community, we acquired adjacent properties to accommodate our growing needs. In 2003, we took a significant step forward by establishing a primary school that combines the UK national curriculum with Islamic studies, emphasizing Quran memorization.

Our Work

Today, FGCM is not just a Masjid but a comprehensive Islamic centre that caters to the diverse needs of our community. From educational programs for all ages to interfaith initiatives and community welfare projects, we strive to fulfill our mission of providing a holistic Islamic environment.

New developement project

As we look to the future, we are excited about our plans to build a new, purpose-built Masjid and community centre. This project represents our commitment to creating a space that meets the evolving needs of our community while preserving our cherished Islamic traditions.

Join us on this journey as we continue to build a legacy of faith, education, and community service at Forest Gate Central Masjid.

“From our modest beginnings, Forest Gate Central Masjid has blossomed into a cornerstone of community and faith. As we look to the future, our vision is clear: to create a space that fosters a legacy of unity, education, and service. Working together, we can strive towards a prosperous future, insha’Allah.”
